5 Winter Wellness things to do when you’re bored
I love to create a list of ideas and things to do when I have spare time. I literally write one tip every single day- tips that actually helps me in my personal and professional life. I have a million notes, to do lists and ideas on my phone- including random ideas like what to do when I’m bored or things to do at night instead of watching TV. And once a season, I like sharing these fun lists with you guys.
Kuntesh and I mostly end up falling asleep while watching TV over weekends. And while there’s obviously nothing wrong with a TV night, especially when we’re tired it’s a great way to unwind the day, but I feel like I can rather do something different other than watching TV. So, when I’m wanting to feel recharged and want to prioritize self-care and Wellness, I try to switch it up with these below ideas.
Things To Do At Night Instead of Watching TV
1. Take a bath. –
Yes, there’s nothing better than taking a bath at night, doesn’t have to be a long bubble bath, even a quick hot water shower works great for me. Everyday I shower at night before bed. But 3 times a week, I exfoliate my body using a sugar Scrub. If you have followed me for a while, you know I love the Tree Hut Sugar Scrubs. They’re amazing to give your skin an intense exfoliation and reveal soft, glowing skin. Recently I’m obsessed with their Sugar Plum Berries Shea Sugar Scrub. Sugar is a natural exfoliant that polishes the dead skin and helps boost circulation to the skin surface. I use this 3 x a week and the festive scent in Sugar Plum berries sets up the mood with an array of natural oils like Evening Primrose, sweet Almond and orange. Check this out here.
Another bath time favorite is the Summer’s Eve Simply Sensitive Cleansing wash. This is another long time favorite product/brand for intimate care. Summer’s Eve Simple Sensitive Cleansing Wash is free from dyes & parabens and is designed to use everyday for external vaginal area. This product doesn’t leave any residue behind, which is why it makes a great addition in the Wellness Routine to stay fresh all season long.
2. Give yourself an at-home spa treatment-
One of my faves after hot steaming shower, is to layer up with skincare and targeted treatments. Currently, I’m using the New OXY Advanced Care Acne Cleanser with Prebiotics – I don’t use this everyday, but those days during that time of the month when I suddenly see the acne popping up on my face and neck. I love that this is a creamy soothing formula that eliminates stubborn acne & blackheads and helps prevent new pimples from forming, followed by the New OXY Advanced care Maximum Strength Rapid Spot Treatment with Prebiotics, which allows to quickly treat and heal the skin. OXY is giving you all 25% off plus free shipping with code babble which is valid until 12/31/21 on OXYSkincare.com
My lips get super dry over the fall and winter season. For several years, I have been loving this Herpacin L everyday Protection. Not only it hydrates my lips, but protects against future cold sores and UV exposure. It works on chapped lips too and locks in moisture to prevent cracking.
Also, also added this New Herpacin L Pain Relief Triple action with Lidocaine – it is a powerful treatment that helps numb cold sore pain and itch. it goes on clear and works instantly on cold sore. Herpecin L Pain Relief is only available at most Walmart stores.
Another great product that I love for dry skin in colder weather is the Flexitol Dry skin cream. It works fast on severely dry and winter itchy skin. It’s relatively a rich, non-greasy cream compared to a regular body lotion.
3. Read-
I do this often- turn of the devices and unwind the day by reading a book. I am very mindful about what books I read. Lately, I’ve been reading The Witchy Homestead by Nikki Van de Car – this book pairs Wellness and Homesteading. Mindfulness at home is the key as we’ve all discovered this pretty well during the quarantine season last year. Click here to check it out or read more.
4. Call a friend and catch up-
For me I usually call overseas family and friends, coz that’s the time of the day when I have the least distractions and can have a long conversation with my Mom, or my MIL. Or I just vent my husband Kuntesh to have a deep life talk. BTW, once in a while, Kuntesh and I like to talk about our 5- year – 15 year long-term plans, LOL.
5. Stretch and Massage-
A little candlelit yoga is a great option, or even Meditate- to be very honest, I don’t actually EVER Meditate but doesn’t it sound nice? Another great thing I enjoy at night is a massage. Kuntesh and I give each other a massage, especially on the shoulders and it feels so relaxing, literally takes the stress away!
Hope you all found these ideas interesting.
