COFFEE TABLE STYLING GUIDE
I love decorating my coffee table and today I’m excited to share some tried and true tips on how to style a coffee table using basic geometry shape! Don’t freak out here- trust me NO math is required! Nor do you need to be a decor pro.
Firstly, think of a visual triangle shape. Once you are able to visualize that, think of pieces around your home that you can repurpose to style. Trust me, decorating will be easier than you’ve ever expected!
BASIC DESIGN ELEMENTS
Now you may be wondering what BASIC decor pieces would work great for a coffee table.
There are 5 basic design elements that should be considered to be included in styling your coffee table.
– shape (vase or tray)
– textures (using canvas, books, beads)
– stems (fresh or faux)
– a color scheme (that coordinates with your style)
– personal/meaningful items (a sovineer from travel or a rock or shell from your trip to the beach)
HOW TO STYLE A COFFEE TABLE: “A VISUAL RIGHT TRIANGLE”
Styling with a right triangle formation is probably one of my favor ways to style, as it always looks visually appealing. I start with a tallest decor element- for example- vase with stems or candles that creates the main focal point and then draw the eye downward on a diagonal to another decor element, which is for example- a small candle or a sea shell.
I try to color coordinate the decor, but if they don’t color coordinate or match my aesthetic, I spray paint them to earthy tones to match my style and to coordinate with my current decor.
Hope this helps! I’d love to see how you’ll use these tips to decorate your center table, so be sure to tag me on social media.
