Every few months or so, I get the urge to change up my look, or go for a major chop. But now a days salon professionals say that ‘More hair length is less work’ – My thoughts, exactly! One of my favorite ways is to play with hairstyles that are mom friendly and with a little color refresh! During my last visit to Walmart, I picked up a box of their Schwarzkopf Keratin Color in the shade BERRY BROWN to prep my hair for the Holidays. I normally go for a lighter hair color shade for summers and a little deeper shade for winters. Schwarzkopf is one of those brands I have grown up trusting and have been using over MANY MANY years! I was in 6th grade, when I was first introduced to this brand by my hairstylist. And over the period of years, Schwarzkopf has always been on top of the Haircare game! They are releasing new products that have helped me keep my hair game strong through most of my adult life. K-BOND PLEX™ is salon inspired anti-breakage technology. K-BOND PLEX™ repairs the inner hair structure for strong and healthy looking hair. Professional quality hair color at home that is easy to use and produces beautiful color results that last.
So, Why Do I Color My Hair At Home Using Schwarzkopf Keratin Color
Firstly, I don’t have 3 hours to spend at the salon with my busy schedule of being a Mom and a small business entrepreneur. With the Schwarzkopf Keratin Color at home kit, I can color my hair in the convenience of my home in about 30-40 minutes. It has skin flattering pigments to complement my skintone and giving that luminous look in my skin (perfect for weddings & holiday parties). And the unique Keratin Complex system cares and protects my hair during and after coloring. Like you can see from the before and after- this Schwarzkopf Keratin Color Gives 100% GRAY COVERAGE (with long lasting effect) and makes my thin hair look shiny, fuller, healthier & stronger, which helps with less hair breakage. Also includes a pre-color serum that helps condition the hair before coloring and provides even color result from root to tip!
BEHIND THE SCENE USING THE Schwarzkopf Keratin Color
BEFORE/AFTER
MOM- APPROVED HOLIDAY HAIRSTYLES
I normally don’t wash my hair everyday especially during the winter months So basically, this is how my MOM APPROVED HAIRSTYLES go from the day 1 after I wash my hair.
Day 1- Straight hair
Day 2- Curl my hair
Day 3- Top Knot or ponytail (wash & Repeat) and if for whatever reason, I don’t wash my hair by..
DAY 4: I wear a hat
STEP-BY-STEP ’60 SECOND BUN’ TUTORIAL
The past few weeks I’ve been tossing my hair up in this ‘messy’ top bun weekly and each time I do, I get a lot of questions about how I do it.. I think so many outfits are made cuter with a messy bun. I prefer mine to be a little undone and I usually wear a bun when my hair already has curl in it.
Step #1: Make sure you start with brushed neat hair – get all the tangles out!
Step #2: You may curl your hair, if it doesn’t have curls on.
Step #3: Add texture/volume spray through your roots and then grab a teasing comb and tease the hair around your face.
Step #4: Flip the hair over to get it all together for a good pony tail.
Step #5: Use texturizing spray on your pony tail
Step #6: Teasing the ponytail – this gives the appearance of a thicker and fuller bun. If I skip this step, my bun just looks smaller and my hair doesn’t look as thick.
Step #7: Start by TWISTING your pony tail. As you twist, simultaneously start wrapping that twisted pony tail around– just wrap until you are at the end of the ponytail.
Step #8: When you are finished wrapping, tuck the end of the ponytail back into the ponytail holder. I have layers in my hair so not all of the layers make it all around, but by tucking in that last little bit of hair. To secure I use a twisted holder.
Step #9: At this point, I tug and pull on the bun to loosen it up, give it volume, and make it fuller! This is the key to really making your bun look big & voluminous!
Steps #10: The last thing I do is to use some hair pins to secure the bun.
And that’s the final result.. Voila! If you want your bun to be super neat, definitely spray hair spray and secure it especially if you are wearing this look at parties. I like to pull my fly aways out and let my bun remain a little messy on casual days.
