THE PIN SHOW OFFERS ENGAGING, MULTIDIMENSIONAL FASHION EXPERIENCE ON FEB. 18
Dallas’ premier independent fashion show announces an eclectic mix of established designers, musical artists and emerging talent on its line-up (DALLAS – January 2017; source: CultureHype) –
In 2007, a pair of Dallas fashion designers had a dream: establish the city as the fashion mecca of choice between Los Angeles and New York. To accomplish this lofty goal, the duo put together a show with the help of dozens of design colleagues and a roster teeming with talented photographers, models and stylists.
Ten years later, The Pin Show has put Dallas on the map, but continues to up the ante and find fresh, innovative ways to engage the community with the latest and greatest in fashion and style. Now in its ninth installment,
The Pin Show will bring an eclectic mix of established designers, musical artists and emerging talent to The Bomb Factory this year on Saturday, Feb. 18 with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the runway show kicking off at 8 p.m.
The Bomb Factory is located at 2713 Canton St, Dallas, TX 75226. Taking front and center yet again are the myriad of multifaceted models and designers whose skills light up the Dallas skyline.
Every year, The Pin Show runway highlights industry veterans while welcoming emerging artists. This year, the veterans include Dika Obiaju, YOMONO, Ruby Bhandari and more whose work will be featured in over a dozen walks on the runway. Joining those seasoned stylists is a prestigious group of up-andcomers taking the Dallas design industry by storm, including Elle Luxx, Sullivan Layne, Radkeem Sims and more. Professional models will be provided by Campbell-Wagner Runway, The Clutts Agency, The Dragonfly Agency and Wallflower Management. The creative minds behind this year’s show have also added a quartet of designers from overseas as an effort to expose international designers to the Dallas market.
During the Indiaspopup.com segment of the show, attendees can view collections by four designers hand-picked from India who have shown at New York Fashion Week and India Fashion Week and have had pieces worn by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Fergie and Jennifer Lopez. “The Texas fashion scene is diverse and abundant and The Pin Show has answered the call for a different type of show, one that appeals to the masses and reveals how independent fashion can be accessible and relevant,” said Julie McCullough, founder of The Pin Show. “Each year, The Pin Show introduces these designers to a large audience and expands the conversation and platform that these designers need to continue to connect with potential buyers, stylists and clients.” A quartet of local musicians will also be on hand to complement this collision of old school and new school fashion. Synth-pop songstress ZHORA will be on hand once again to run the runway, and she’s bringing a bevy of talented friends to help her make the event as star-studded as possible. Hip-hop star-in-the-making Sam Lao joins The Pin Show crew alongside Blue, The Misfit, PICNICTYME and Ronnie Heart. Luckily for attendees, the works on display won’t be entirely off-limits. In fact, event-goers won’t have to go too far to adapt the styles strutting down the runway.
This year’s show will bring attendees closer to the style they – more – The Pin Show / Page Two see on the runway with a marketplace that features designs and jewelry from many of the top artisans whose work has graced the show’s stage. In addition, local vendors will be selling wares on-site. For an updated list of vendors, please visit www.thepinshow.com. Furthermore, a new app allows event-goers and enthusiasts to plan ahead with their shopping when they see a dazzling design on the runway. Attendees can download the app starting Monday, Feb. 6.
Tickets to The Pin Show cost $28 to $103. For tickets and more information on The Pin Show, please visit www.thepinshow.com
